Something different

I just deleted all my old posts.

They were fun to write, but I eventually grew tired of them. They imposed some structure and expectation that started to feel constraining.

As I’m writing this, I’m on my way to see Radiohead, whose “Kid A” is widely regarded as one of the sharpest left turns in the history of modern music. Following up on “OK Computer” and its twelve beautiful tracks, instead of continuing down the established road, the band felt they needed a fresh start. Their rock efforts, Thom would say later, had “missed the point”.

I wonder what would have happened if they could just, you know… Delete their old stuff. At that point, I think they probably would. And when it comes to “Creep”, they most certainly would, and pay good money too. But they can’t put the genie back in the bottle.

Luckily for me, I’m not Thom Yorke, and nobody reads this shit anyway. So I’m at a complete liberty to literally undo everything I write.

No more functional programming, no more philosophy, no more music theory. This iteration will mostly consist of my unfiltered streams of thought.

Until I delete everything again, that is.
