A fresh start
I just deleted all my old posts. Grew tired of them.
As I’m writing this, I’m on my way to see Radiohead, whose “Kid A” is regarded as one of the sharpest left turns in the history of modern music. Following up on “OK Computer” and its twelve amazing tracks, instead of continuing down the paved road, the band felt they needed a fresh start.
I wonder what would have happened if they could just, you know… Delete their old stuff. Back in 2000, I think they probably would. And when it comes to “Creep”, they absolutely would, and pay good money too. But they can’t put the genie back in the bottle.
Luckily for me, I’m not Thom Yorke, and this is not some published piece of work whose ownership involves things like publishers and labels. It’s all me, and I’m at complete freedom to simply wipe everything out whenever I want. My server, my rules.
Time to head out, my stop is almost here. I’m sure it’s going to be a magnificent show. And I’m sure it will not include Creep.
